Kirsten J. West is a writer and an educator. She has written over 20 study guides on classic literature. Occasionally, her dark poetry escapes its Emily Dickinson style fate, survives its foray into the desk drawer and is published. Her true love is fiction, and she writes in several genres, including urban fantasy imbued with gothic undertones, memoir laced with pathos and romance drenched in passion and humour.

Kirsten won the 2026 Diversions short story competition run by Romance Writers Australia and further shortlisted for the Sweet Treats competition. Her published pieces can be found in journals like Micromance, Sinkhole and Literary Cocktail Magazine. She was a highly commended and LGA winning writer in the Living Stories anthologies and was chosen as one of the successful writers published in BAD Western Sydney, the Second Case.

Kirsten has a Masters in Creative Writing and is currently working on her second novel.
